MYTH #1: CBD IS ILLEGAL

That depends on where the CBD extract was derived from. If the CBD was derived from a hemp plant and contains less than 0.3% THC, it is legal in all 50 states and has been since 2014.

CBD products that contain more than 0.3% THC are illegal (in states where recreational cannabis is not legal). Typically these products have not been extracted from legal hemp plants, but instead, cannabis plants. Our recommendation is to stay away from any manufacturer who cannot provide you with third-party testing results that show the THC content in their products.

MYTH #2: CBD GETS YOU HIGH

CBD cannot get you high, in fact, numerous studies have shown it has the opposite effect. How is this? THC is psychoactive as it binds together the CB1 receptors in your brain. This creates an intoxicating effect and is what produces both the head and body high one feels when using THC.

CBD cannot get you high, in fact, numerous studies have shown it has the opposite effect.

CBD instead creates a block that does not allow CB1 receptors to bind together. This means that it cannot get you high, or intoxicate you in any way. In fact, CBD self-regulates any THC by stopping it from binding together your CB1 receptors. So a legal CBD product with less than 0.3% THC cannot get you high due to this. CBD works with your Endocannabinoid System (CB1 and CB2 receptors) to help reduce inflammation, calm your mind, help you sleep, and soothe your suffering.

MYTH #3: YOU CAN FAIL A DRUG TEST WITH CBD

There is no current drug test for CBD as CBD is non-impairing. Employers are looking for positive THC results, not CBD. However, there are some CBD products on the market with higher levels of THC (such as full-spectrum oils), and it is possible for these to be detected on a drug test that is testing for THC. Always buy from a company with third-party testing results that show there is no detectable trace of THC in their products (all of our broad-spectrum oils are tested by a third party and have non-detectable traces of THC).

But please remember, there is never a 100% guarantee that you will not test positive for THC even with broad-spectrum oils that have passed a test for non-detectable traces of THC. Please understand that while we have not been told that any of our customers have failed a drug test, that it may still happen. A discussion with your employer is a good first step so that they understand you are using a non-impairing cannabinoid product for help with chronic pain, anxiety, sleep, etc.

MYTH #4: CBD IS MEDICAL MARIJUANA

Medical Marijuana and CBD are very different. Medical Marijuana uses only the flower of the plant, and often it is grown for maximum THC content. THC is used for all sorts of therapeutic needs, and maybe someday all Americans will be able to enjoy the benefits of Medical Marijuana, but until then CBD, and other cannabinoids such as CBG and CBN, may be the answer you’ve been looking for.

MYTH #5: NO CREDIBLE STUDIES SHOW CBD WORKS

This is not true. There have been hundreds of different studies performed worldwide looking at everything from CBD in pain treatments to using CBD for other issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, and more. These studies found that people showed improvement for a wide variety of issues, but most common among them was relief from pain and inflammation issues.

At this point, there are no direct studies showing how much CBD someone can tolerate. We do, however, know that there are many people using 1000+MG a day without major side effects. I would suggest using 25MG twice per day and see where that gets you, then adjust up or down as necessary.

Our Arnica CBD Pain Relievers are an amazing option for controlling chronic pain topically along with the use of CBD oil orally.
